Joanne Corneau, née à Chicoutimi en 1952, se distingue comme une artiste peintre québécoise. Après des études en arts visuels à l’Université du Québec à Montréal, elle commence à exposer dans la ville et s'impose progressivement sur le marché de l'art. Dans les années 80, elle expose à travers le Canada, y compris à l'Expo 86 de Vancouver, où sa visibilité s'accroît. En 1992, elle s'installe à New York et devient une figure reconnue dans le milieu artistique international, exposant dans des galeries prestigieuses telles que Steuben Glass et Opéra Gallery. Son œuvre, qui allie néo-expressionnisme et pop art, séduit à l'international, notamment à Londres, Paris, Venise, et Dubaï. En 2012, Corno revient au Québec en collaborant avec la Galerie Perreault, où une exposition en 2014 rencontre un grand succès. Cependant, sa carrière prend fin prématurément en 2016, laissant un héritage mondial de ses œuvres, désormais présentes dans de nombreuses collections privées et publiques.
