Huile sur toile signée et datée en haut à droite Padamsee 85. Akbar Padamsee est un artiste indien contemporain né à Bombay en 1928. C'est en repoussant constamment les limites de son procesus créatif tout au long de ses 60 ans de carrière, qu'il s'est imposé comme l'un des pionniers de la peinture moderne indienne à travers le monde. ll a fait l'objet d'expositions solos à New-Dehli, Mumbai, Paris, Oxford, Londres, New-York et a également participé aux biennales de Venise, Tokyo et Sao Paulo. Son imagerie innovante et particulièrement inventive se rendra jusqu'au Musée des Beaux Arts de Montréal, en 1966, pour une exposition inédite.

Oil on canvas signed and dated on the upper right Padamsee 85. Akbar Padamsee is a contemporary Indian artist born in Bombay in 1928. By constantly pushing back the boundaries of his creative process throughout his 60-year career, he has established himself as one of the pioneers of modern Indian painting worldwide. He has had solo exhibitions in New-Dehli, Mumbai, Paris, Oxford, London and New York, and has also participated in the Venice, Tokyo and Sao Paulo biennales. His innovative and particularly inventive imagery made its way to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, in 1966, for an unprecedented exhibition.
